Sarah Riseborough reads ‘The Giant and His Wife’
Artist, storyteller and performer Sarah Riseborough comes to Durham Castle to read her grizzly short story, ‘The Giant and his Wife’, in the atmospheric surroundings of the Norman Chapel.
The Giant and His Wife tracks the fate of a giant who cannot change his luck. Quite by accident, he kills his wife and we follow the grizzly tale of the unmaking of one wife, and the making of the next. The humour is black, the axe is sharp. Cannibalism, songs and a sarcastic horse - what more could one wish for on Halloween?
