Every year, Durham Sixth Form Centre offer a wide range of events to support prospective students to make a smooth transition from secondary school to post-16 education. This includes their Open Evenings, which are held in October and April, and their Year 11 Taster Day in July. These events are intended to help welcome you to Durham Sixth Form Centre, as well as to support you in choosing the right progression routes and courses.
At Durham Sixth Form Centre Open Evenings, you will have the chance to meet and talk to their specialist subject staff in order to discuss course content, enrichment opportunities, assessment methods, teaching styles as well as different routes within subject areas. Their award-winning Careers Information, Advice and Guidance Team will be on-hand to discuss any questions that you may have about progression to Higher Education, apprenticeships and/or employment.
Information will be available about their financial assistance offers and their Student Support Team will be around to discuss any learning needs that you may have. In addition to their Open Evenings, they will also write to you to invite you to attend their Prospective Student Taster Day, which will give you the opportunity to meet other students, try a range of subject lessons and meet members of their staff team.
