Durham's award-winning Traditional Christmas Festival will return from Friday 29th November 2019 for three days, with a wide range of festive entertainment for all the family in and around the World Heritage Site of the Cathedral and the Castle and throughout the City Centre.

The huge, heated Craft and Gift Marquee on Palace Green will feature over 180 stalls* across all three days of the event.
It's open Friday 29th November from 10am to 6pm, Saturday 30th November from 9am to 6pm and Sunday 1st December from 10am to 4:30pm. At the entrance, tickets for the Craft and Gift Marquee will cost £4. To save £0.50 per ticket, purchase in advance online at http://www.durhamchristmasfestival.com/
New for 2019, carers are entitled to free entry into the Craft & Gift Marquee on Friday 29th November, if they are bringing the person(s) they care for to the festival.
In the Cloisters of Durham Cathedral, discover a Regional Food and Drink Producers' Market featuring more than 30 traders*. It's open Friday 29th November from 10am to 5pm, Saturday 30th November from 9am to 5pm and Sunday 1st December from 12 noon to 4.30pm. No tickets are required for this market, but you may wish to make a donation to Durham Cathedral.
Durham Market Hall will also be open each day of the Christmas Festival, and there will be an additional Festive Market in the Market Place.
In Durham Cathedral, Carols for All services take place on both Saturday and Sunday. Weekend entertainment on Palace Green, between the Cathedral and the Castle, will include a static falconry display, storytelling, a children’s entertainer, and Father Christmas's Festive Grotto.
Additionally, there will be plenty of local entertainers and musicians throughout the city centre.
You will find refreshments on Palace Green throughout the Christmas Festival. The Café on the Green in the Almshouses is open daily from 9am to 5pm and the Courtyard Cafe in Palace Green Library is open daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
HOW TO GET TO THE FESTIVAL
We recommend you use public transport to get to Durham Christmas Festival. There are a number of Park and Rides in operation throughout the festival. For further information on these, please CLICK HERE. As well as the three regular Durham Park and Rides, there is an additional P&R site running from New College on Saturday 30th November. Also, there is Park and Stride in operation on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December from County Hall.
