Something for everyone at first Community Fun Day
Durham University staff, students and local partners are inviting residents to a new Community Fun Day.
The free event will offer something for all ages, including live music, theatre, sports, dancing, hands-on science, arts and crafts, stalls, exhibitions and much more.
Visitors will be able to get a flavour of some of the regular activities and events run by the University’s staff, students and partners throughout the year.
The Community Fun Day will be held in a marquee on Palace Green, Durham City, on Saturday 22 June, from 10am to 3pm.
Entry is free. A small charge may apply for some activities. No registration is necessary.
Some activities will be scheduled for certain times of the day. Full details of the activities on offer and the schedule will be announced closer to the date.
Katie Binks, Partnership Development Manager at the University’s Experience Durham, said: “Our staff, students and community partners organise and run a huge variety of activities for local communities, so we thought we’d bring as many of them as possible together in one place for an event which is free and open to all to enjoy.
“We hope there’ll be something for all ages and interests. It’s a chance to try something new – maybe something that you could then enjoy all year round. We look forward to seeing people there.”
