We are delighted to welcome Rosamund Young to this year’s Festival, where she will be discussing her Sunday Times Top Ten bestseller The Secret Life of Cows.
Cows are as varied as people. They can be highly intelligent or slow to understand, vain, considerate, proud, shy or inventive. Although much of a cow’s day is spent eating, they always find time for activities such as babysitting, playing hide and seek, blackberry picking, or fighting a tree. From the author’s own organic farm, this is an affectionate record of a hitherto secret world.
Rosamund Young and her family run Kite’s Nest Farm on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment. Nature is left to itself as much as possible and the animals receive exceptional kindness and consideration.
